While photography may seem like a way to answer the questions of those unfamiliar with the subject matter, exceptional compositions leave viewers with more questions than ever before: not because the initial questions remain unanswered, but because the image has sparked a wild fascination with that which is unknown. The details of life, particularly the tiny world bustling around us all, are vaguely understood at best, and photography is perhaps the greatest portal into the unknown.
I personally consider photography not only a form of artistic expression, but also a way to spark the interest and imagination of others: if people are presented with examples of a world they may otherwise overlook, it may leave enough of an impression that they will begin to recognize and find intrigue in the infinite complexities of the world around them.
